- Master of Social Work(MSW),
- Grad Dip. Gestalt & Counselling,
- Adv..Cert in Couples & Family Systems Theory,
- Gotman Method Couples Therapy level 2,
- Clinical member of Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT)
Martina offers the following services:
- Couples & Family Psychotherapy
- Individual Psychotherapy
- Supervision (Clinical & Organisational)
- Parenting coaching – Individualised Parent Programs
Martina specialises in Bowen Family Systems Theory in her psychotherapy work with families, couples, adults, and adolescents. This way of ‘thinking systems’ has led her to understand that how we feel, what we do, and how we think, cannot be separated from our significant relationship-systems. You could say that sorting out how people get emotionally caught in their relationships and entangled in their work and/or family systems is her specialty.
She offers clinical and organisational supervision to mental health clinicians and teams and mental health team leaders. This is a confidential, structured and collaborative space for reflective practice and systems thinking. This way of engaging builds the supervisee’s capacity to reflect on their own clinical practice, increase self-awareness, and become more autonomous. Martina can supervise mental health clinicians working with families, couples, and individuals (including adolescents) as well as mental health teams or leaders, who would like to develop further knowledge and skills in a family systems framework.
Martina is currently a trainer at The Family Systems Institute, Australia’s leading training centre in Bowen Family Systems Therapy where she facilitates training for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counsellors, in their Adv.Cert. in Couples and Family Systems Therapy, accredited by the Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT), as well as running Family of Origin Courses.
She has worked in youth mental health (headspace Bondi Junction), Drug & Alcohol (Gloo Project) and with the LGTBQI+ community (Aids Council of NSW).
Martina became interested in the work of Dr Murray Bowen in 2013, since then she has been an avid reader and a committed scholar of Bowen Family Systems Theory which she applies to both her clinical work and personal life. Martina has published two articles on the subject in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy which were amongst the top 10% downloaded articles in both 2016 and 2018. She has presented her work at symposiums and conferences.
Martina has been embedded in contemplative practices and the healing arts for over twenty years, with experience in the practice and teaching of Yoga, a Diploma in Zen Shiatsu and a long term commitment to meditation in the Theradavan Buddhist tradition.

‘ Do not feel lonely, the entire Universe is inside of you ‘ ( Rumi )
John is a licensed psychotherapist providing support and counselling for both individuals and couples. He has a Psychotherapy practice in Sydney and also together with his partner has built a retreat centre in Kangaroo Valley, NSW ( Arawaka…A Place of Sacred Nourishment ). This retreat centre allows for deeper healing and immersion for individuals and couples as they explore the deeper meaning and essence of who they are choosing to become. Using nature as an instrument of profound healing we can potentiate and mature when soul and our wild nature guide’s us. It is in the presence of a past, present and emerging rainforest setting at Arawaka that a template for a more mature, fulfilling and purposeful life can lead to inner healing and a better world
John works with INDIVIDUALS to explore those parts of selves that behaviourally get in the way from living a more authentic and meaningful life. These old patterns are formed in the developmental years of growth and often reflect our experience of Family of Origin. Letting go of these patterns often associated with a residue of trauma, allows for more healthy resourcing and self discovery. John is particularly interested in the body’s ability to self heal… psychologically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually
